Item 7 | Local Planning and Climate Resilience
- OPR and HCD staff will outline major findings and themes from OPR’s survey of local jurisdications and their progress on meeting Senate Bill 379 requirements , provide an overview of local housing policies, and update on wildfire and climate risk in planning guidances and guidelines
- Discussion on planning, housing, and land use tools and policy levers and their role in supporting climate resilience and adaptation at the local level
- Voting on any actions to implement topics presented and discussed
Item 8 | Coastal Resilience Principles and Local Sea-Level Rise Adaptation
- Presentation from Ocean Protection Council on proposed state coastal resilience principles, OPC’s recently adopted strategic plan for the ocean and coast, and the recently released report, “Preparing for Rising Seas: How the State Can Help Support Local Coastal Adaptation Efforts”
