At the end of 2020, the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR) surveyed city and county governments to understand the needs and actions of jurisdictions during this unprecedented time. Today, we are excited to release the findings of this Annual Planning Survey! Our newly released report includes information about:
- Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on city and county planning departments;
- Local agencies’ capacity to address key planning topics and activities;
- Actions taken to address current challenges; and,
- Opportunities to build resilience moving forward.
OPR highly values the insights of our city and county partners. We are thankful for the time and effort agencies put into completing this survey and OPR’s partners that supported the survey. The insights and perspectives provided in this report will inform OPR’s efforts as we work to support California’s communities in 2021 and beyond.
