California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment team is pleased to announce the second round of tribal grant funding through the California Energy Commission’s Tribal Research Grant Program.
Through the Fifth Assessment’s Tribal Research Program and Tribal Research Grant Program, the State is investing in tribally led climate change research initiatives. Funding through the Tribal Research Grant Program is available to support projects focused on climate research, Indigenous Knowledges, and similar projects California Tribes prioritize. This grant program will inform the Fifth Assessment by supporting Tribal capacity and participation throughout the process.
Applications for this funding opportunity are due July 31, 2024, by 5 p.m. Pacific Time.
Tribal Research Grant Program Round 2 Solicitation
California Energy Commission staff are hosting a pre-application workshop on May 16, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. to provide more details about the solicitation and application process.
Additionally, California Energy Commission staff will be available during office hours on May 29 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and May 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to answer questions about California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment Tribal Research Program and Tribal Research Grant Program.
Participation in the pre-application workshop and office hours is optional, but encouraged.
