Call for Contributing Authors: Tribal and Indigenous Communities Report

California’s Fifth Climate Change Assessment seeks Indigenous Scholars, Cultural Practitioners, Community Leaders, and Tribal Youth as authors to contribute insights on tribal climate resilience and Indigenous Knowledges to the Tribal and Indigenous Communities Report.

Tribal and Indigenous Communities Report authors will work in coordination with the Report’s Lead Author, Don Hankins. Hankins is a professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at California State University, Chico, and a Miwkoʔ (Plains Miwok) traditional cultural practitioner. His work focuses on conservation through applied Indigenous stewardship, particularly in fire and water stewardship, blending academic research with Indigenous knowledge. He is also engaged in policy work, advocating for Indigenous stewardship.
