AnnouncementLCI Proposes $100K Application Fee for CEQA Judicial Streamlining

Published: 11/19/2025

LCI has proposed a set of rulemakings to set a $100,000 fee for projects applying for judicial streamlining benefits under the California Environmental Quality Act. The proposed application fee is based on the personnel cost of the program divided by a projected number of applications.

This regulation would allow LCI to recoup a portion of its implementation costs. Implementation of the rulemaking supports streamlining the judicial review of projects that replace old and outmoded facilities, generate thousands of full–time jobs during construction and operation, and implement innovative measures that significantly reduce significant greenhouse gas emission and other impacts.
